UNIVERSITY bursaries. TWO AWARDS MADE. The Auckland University College Council at the end of last, year decided to award two bursaries tip. the students who had done the best vroilk in the University tutorial classes. The ; College Council, on the recommendation at the selection committee. has selected Messrs. J. Shearer, of Dominion Road, and J. W. Watson, of Mount Eden, as the bursars for 1924. Both students show .a fine record in their respective subjects, history and economics. The bursaries .will be,tenable for at least three years and will enable the successful applicants to pursue a degree or diploma course. The association received the news of the bursaries with enthusiasm, realising the stimulus they would provide, and keen competition for future, bursaries is expected.
