AIR TRAVEL HABIT.
NEW MINISTER'S AIM. " ENTHRALLED BY JOB." LONDON, Feb. 7. General Thomson, the new Air Minister, has a "live" and progressive mind. He states that discussion of aerial development and Air Force expansion has already occupied much of the Cabinet's time. '"Hie Barney airship scheme has not yet been decided," he said. "Airships are vital for both civil and military purposes. lam emphatically in favour of encouraging airship development along the main Imperial routes for mails and passengers. When we are able to get Australia's Prime Minister to Britain in a fortnight for discussion of Empire affairs, the problem of air communication will have been solved. . . "That expresses my aim. I am enthralled by my job, and regard it as one of the greatest jobs in t'he world, because it means new progress in a new, form of travel, with most fascinating problems. "I want to get the British everywhere to cultivate the air travel habit, and become the foremost air navigators. Britain's future is in the air quite as much as on the sea."
