PIRATES FRUSTRATED.

ATTEMPT TO SEIZE SHIP. HONGKONG SENSATION. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. - (Received 5.5 p.m.) Sun. - PEKING. Feb. 21. Pirates who were on board attempted to seize the river steamer Onlee when she was an hour and a-hfilf out from Hongkong. 1 The officers frustrated the attempt by putting out the lights and commanding the Indian guards to return the pirates' fire. The steamer then turned back to Hongkong, escorted by a police launch. Arriving at Hongkong a large force of police boarded her, but failed to find any firearms or to ascertain the identity of the pirates. Consequently they lodged all the 200 passengers in the police station. It is believed that when the lights were turned out the pirates dumped their firearms overboard.
