TRAINS IN TAURANGA.

METAL RAILED TO TOWN HARBOUR BRIDGE UTILISED. [SI TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] TAURANGA. Friday. The first consignment of metal to be landed by rail in Tauranga was brought in by the Public Works Department today. Trucks were loaded at To Puke quarry and travelled over the harbour bridge and along the railway line just laid as far as the town wharf, where the metal was dumped and is to be used in connection with the new approach to the town wharf. A portion of the shore end of the town wharf has been removed and filling for the railway embankment is now proceeding at this point, in order to link up the reclamation along the town water front. The department has also removed the Harbour Board's office out of the line of the railway track, and the building is now placed in a new position on the northern side of the wharf.
