DEATH OF AN INFANT.

INQUEST AT PONSONBY. AN UNMARRIED MOTHER. The death of an infant which was born at Ponsonby on Saturday formed the subject of an inquest, opened yesterday before Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M., coroner. The mother of the child is a young unmarried woman, aged about 21. After formal evidence, the inquest was adjourned pending the result of a post-mortem examination.
