EARLY PIONEER HONOURED

MR. H. DUNBAR JOHNSON. An interesting ceremony in connection with the sixty-second anniversary of the arrival of the ships Devonshire and Gertrude took; place on Thursday, when a deputation waited on Judge H. Dunbar Johnson and presented him with a silver tray, suitably inscribed, on behalf of the surviving passengers and their descendants. For many years past, Mr. Johnson has been the leading spirit in connection with the annual anniversary celebrations, but he is now seriously ill, and bis old comrades took the opportunity of extending their sympathy and good wishes for his speedy recovery. The presentation was made by Mr. W. Blomfield. Mr. Johnson expressed great pleasure i at the kindness shown by the donors.
