BUTTER MARKET FIRM.
SHORTAGE OF SUPPLIES.
• Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Reed. 9.5 p.m.) LONDON, Dec. 6. The butter market is very firm owing to shortage of supplies. No new arrivals of New Zealand are due till December 16. For the few lots available of New Zealand, choicest salted, 224s is asked. Australian is clearing well, choicest salted at 214s to 216s and unsalted at 218s to 2205. The cheese market is firm. New Zealand is quoted at 108s to 112s. Dalgety and Co., Ltd., are in receipt of the following cablegram from their London office, tinder date of December 6:— Butter.—Market very firm. We quote:— New Zealand butter, ealted, 2205; New Zealand, exceptional brands, 224.9; Danish, 2285; finest Australian, salted. 2165; finest Australian, unsalted, 2205. Cheese.—Market steady. We quote:—New Zealand, 10Ss and 110?; Canadian, c.i.f., September make, 110s.
