DYNAMITE IN A STREAM.
DESTRUCTION OF SALMON.
That poachers had thrown dynamite into the famous Dovey Salmon River, destroying the salmon, was reported at a meeting of Mawddach Fishery Board at Barmouth, Wales. • ,'■';■ ,; Mr. R. C. Anwyl, deputy-lieutenant, said that throwing dynamite into Dovey, River was very prevalent, having greatly increased during the last two years, but it was very difficult to detect the offenders. . •-■. f The clerk said it was a serious offence to throw dynamite into, a salmon river, resulting in the wholesale destruction of salmon. Recently the board had succeeded in prosecuting a poacher, who had thrown dynamite in Dovey River, the offender being heavily fined.
