THE TURF IN ENGLAND. MEETING ABANDONED. A. and N.Z. LONDON, Nov. 25. Owing to bad weather—heavy fog being the deciding factor— Manchester meeting had to be abandoned. THE LEAP TO JOCKEYS. *i and N.Z. LONDON, Nov. 25. S. Donoghue was to have ridden at Manchester, but the abandonment of that meeting gave the apprentice rider, C. E. Elliott, who was level with his great rival, a chance of winning the jockeys' championship. Elliott had four mounts at the Lingfield meeting, but secured one third place only. The season thus ends with the championship- divided for the first time in the history of the English turf. Donoghue and Elliott had each 89 winning mounts during the season. Last year Donoghue had 616 mounts, and his record was 102 firsts, 78 .econds, 79 thirds, and 357 times unplaced. C. Elliott's record for the same period was 506 mounts, 85 firsts, 69 seconds, 50 thirds, and 302 times unplaced. BAY OF PLENTY MEETING. The secretary of the Bay of Plenty Jockey Club notifies that Bitholia has to be included among the entrants for the Flying Handicap. taumartjnit: MEETING. .
