FROZEN MEAT MARKET.
Dalgety and Company, Ltd., report having receved the following cabled advice from their London office, under date November 22: Prime crossbred lamb: Canterbury, heavy 9Jd, light lid; North Island, heavy Bid. light lOd. Dmr-and runs principally on light-weights: prices steady. Prime crossbred mutton: North Island, heavy 7d. light 7Jd. Demand btotter, owing to oold weather, and prices steady. New Zealand prime ox beef: Hinds 4Jd. fores 3d. Demand poor and market dull. Good average quality crossbred lamb: Aastralian, light IOJd. Demand fair.
MARKET REPORTS. FRUIT AND PRODUCE, Most varieties of fruit -were in fair supply on the Auckland markets yesterday, and prices showed little variation. A shipment of American apples, which arrived by the Makura, met with fair demand. - A few cases of local grapes came forward and brought up to 4s per lb. At th© result of over-supply, potatoes showed a t noticeable fall in price. FRUIT. -J
Good Delicious apples realised from lis to 13s a case yesterday, others 8s to 10s. Stunners were scarce, and brought from 13* to 16s, and Doughertys, supplies of which are becoming exhausted, sold from 6e to 9i. American apples realised 17s fid a case. Hothouse tomatoes came forward in fairly large quantities, prices ranging from 6d to la 8d per lb according to grade and quality. Island tomatoes brought from 12s to 14a a case. The first of the season's apricots reached the market but were of poor, quality and were bought at from 7s to 9s a case. Prices for lemons ranged from IC* to 16s, and or pineapples from. 12s to 14s & case. Ripe bananas realised from £1 to £1 10s a case according to quality and sice of case. Re-packed Island oranges and Australian Valencia oranges brought from 14s to 15s a case. Strawberries have been coming forward in fairly large quantities this week, and prices, have been reasonable. The market was a little firmer yesterday. Is to Is 5d being realised par chip for new bed strawberries and lOd to 12d for old bed berries. Large supplies -of gooseberries were available and brought from 6s to 7s 6d a case.
PRODUCE. Tttie supplies of new potatoes slutted the market and prices ranged from 6s to JOa per cwt. New season's onions brought 2id per lb and island kumaraa 16s to 17s per cwt. Cabbages and cauliflowers sold from 4s to 9s ft sack. Green pears brought from 2d to 3d per lb; broad beans, lid to 2d; and French beans, from lOd to Is 2d per lb. '* Vegetable marrows sold from Sd to 8d each, and lettuces from 2s to 4s a dozen; cucumbers, 6s to 9s a dozen. Asparagus sold from 7d to Is a bundle; rhubarb. 2s to 4s a dozen; carrots, parsnips, beetroot and turnips, 8d to Is 6d a dozen.
. POULTRY. There was a good demand for cockerels, which came forward in large supply. Heavy cockerels realised from 6s to 8s 9d and light cockerels 3s 3d to 6s each. Heavy hens brought 2s 7d to 4s, light hens Is fed to 2s; young ducks 3s to 4s 6d; old ducks and drakes, Is 6d to 2s 3d.
