BANKRUPT'S ACCOUNTS.
DELAY IN FURNISHING.
Before Mr. Justice Stringer at the Supreme Court yesterday William Standish, a bankrupt, again appeared on an adjourned summons to show cause why he should not be committed for contempt of Court, for failing to furnish to the ofTcial assignee certain necessary documents relating to his estate. The case had been twice previously adjourned to allow bankrupt to furnish the particulars jequired. After the position had been explained yesterday by Mr. V. R. Meredith, Crown' Solicitor, who appeared for the official assignee. Mr. W. S. Fisher, the matter was' further adjourned for a fortnight. -''■ -'■•'■•- J .':'- : M' '- : :;,*-;% Mr. Meredith said that Mr., Fisher had received a letter from a well-known firm of accountants on Thursday slating that all the documents and papers had been received from New Plymouth, but it was impassible to have a: statement prepared by* yesterday. The firm,- however, gave a Eersonal undertaking to expedite the matsr. Mr. Fisher was: prepared to accept this undertaking, and suggested that the matter b. allowed to stand over. •-,.'.-•'.". ', His Honor: How is it that there has been such delay in getting these documents? " [ ': Bankrupt: My brother has been very ill and could not get hold of the papers. His Honor :- Very well, I will let the matter stand over for a.fortnight. In the meantime you had', better •" see your accountant and see that he has all the- information he requires from you.
