FRUITERER'S STORE BURNED.

A fire occurred about, 4'• n.ra. yesterday in a wooden shed at the rear of a;#.np«at 2, Surrey Crescent, Grey Lynn. The property was owned by the Church of Eng- , land and occupied by " Mr. ? Ernest M. Spires, -■ fruiterer and carrier. ■• The,; shed was practically destroyed, and damage amounting to about £20, was caused to the stock of vegetables it contained. The fire was attended by" engines' from the City and Grey Lynn Fire Brigades. The City Fire Brigade was called to a fire in some scrub in a gully off Beresford Street shortly after 1 p.m. yesterday. The fire was quickly extinguished. ~
