SUCCESS OF "BOYS' WEEK."
tribute TO organisers.
Reference to the success of " Boys' Week " was made at the Rotary Club's weekly luncheon yesterday. Mr. R. A. Laidlaw, who presided, said the influence of " Boys' Week " would live long in the land. Thousands of boys and fathers had heard Rotary eulogised, and the motto of Rotary, "service before self," had gone into' hundreds of homes where it had never been heard before. Many had assisted in the movement, but the Boys' Week was the conception of one Rotarian, Mr. R. Brasted, general secretary of the Y.M.C.A., ana was carried through by two Rotarians, Mr. A. J. Hutchison, secretary of the club, and Mr. Brasted. Notwithstanding that the former was in bed, owing to illness, they had carried through the finest piece of boys' work the club had yet done. On the chairman's motion, Messrs. Hutchison and Brasted were accorded a rousing haka. Mr. Brasted,, in reply, said that Mr. Hutchison had b<*n the backbond kkft Boys' Week, and paid a tribute to his efforts. He expressed sincere thanks to all who had worked so hard to make the movement a success, Sir. Hutchison was welcomed back after his recent illness.
