BUSY CENTRE AT ROYAL OAK.
The Onehunga borough stfaff has just completed the footpath fronting the eight shops on the western side of the roa<l at the Royal Oak, of which five are new structures. The path has been made with large con-crete blocks, a formation which is new to Onehunga, which permits a fine appearance, besides giving a splendid surface for, pedestrian traffic. In ad dition to these eight shops, nine new shops have recently been erected en the opposite side of the street, and five more are in course of construction. With, a public garage and other business premises in the vicinity, there will soon be 25 shops! to cater for the residents in this important neighbourhood, all located |at the busy junction of the six roads. In the lower part of Onehunga 12 new shops have recently been erected in the main Street, besides numerous shops in the side streets, and as they are all built ' in tho modern style, they have added | considerably to the appearance of this i progressive borough.
