Dur.edin, and Now Plymouth. She will berth oa Sunday morning. OMANA DUE TO-MORROW. J. J. Craig, Ltd., have received advice t'-iat the : Australian steamer Omana arrived at Opua on Monday, morning from Newcastle. The vessel will discharge a part cargo of Australian hardwood at Optra : and also load, about 500.000 ft. of timber there. She is duo at this port to-morrow to dischargij a further ', quantity of hardwood and Ui load another 500,000 ft. of timber for Australia. ' ' -

• PIAKO DUE ON SATURDAY. 7 The loading of- the steamer Piako at Napier has -bt'dn delayed by, bad weather. The Auckland office of the' New Zealand Shipping Company has received advice that the vessel ia to leavfc there to-day for Auckland, where she is due on ■ Saturday, morning. The Piako is coming here to complete loading for America and England, and will lift a large quantity of frozen and general cargo. She is expected to sail about next Thursday for .Boston,, New York. London, Avonmopth. Liverpool, Manchester, and Glasgow, calling at those ports in the order given. ; -. - . . -' LARGE MOTOR SHIPS. - As many more motor ships are. being, "Hud have been, built in Great Britain than in any other country, it is somewhat stir-, prising to learn that the two largest- vessels of this class now in service are of German construction. The Motor Ship publishes details of the second' largest oil-engmed ■craft in the world, which has just been completed. . This is a tinker with a carrying capacity of about 14,050 tons of liquid fuel, and is intended for the transport of oil from the United States to Germany. It is satisfactory to note, • however, that far larger internal-comb uation-engined ships are now under construction in England, including four passengers liners varying irom 17,000 io 20,000 tons displacement. Germany will, nevertheless, be responsible for .the world's largest motor cargo-carrying vessels, since two of this type are now on the a'tocks of a Hamburg shipyard, each with a dead-weight capacity of nearly 21,000 tons.

THE KARAMEA.

" The Shaw. Savill and, Albion steamer Karamea arrived from Liverpool yesterday, and later berthed at the Queen's Wharf to discharge over 3000 tons of general merchandise. The Karamea loaded at Glasgow and Liverpool, and sailed from the latter port on September 1, She arrived at Colon on September 19 and cleared Balboa the same day.
