NEW POST OFFICE SITE. [JIT TELEGRAPH. «)RBKSPONDKKT.] '"../.. PAEKOA. Monday. Word has been received by the Paeroa Borough Council that the proposed new post office site is to be right in the centre of the town, on what is known as the " Triangle corner," where Belmont Road, Normanby Road, Wharf Street and .Princess Street junction. The site is considered to be the very best in the town for the building. The Paeroa Tennis Club has, during the last year, acquired a 2£-acre section for its new courts. During the autumn and. winter considerable work has been done on the new site. It is" proposed to put down eight courts (grass), four of which have been put down, and will be ready for play very shortly. • The Paeroa Bowling Club recently held its annual meeting, when Mr. W. Power was elected president,, and Messrs. D. Brown and E. Edwards vice-presidents. A strong committee, with Mr. G. H. Taylor as secretary, was also elected. The club is seriously considering the; installation of' electric light on the green, to enable night play. . The Paeroa Ladies' Croquet Club held its annual .meeting - recently, when Mrs. M. Connolly was elected president, with Miss Shaw and Miss Dawber vice-presi-dents. Mrs. G. H. Taylor was re-elected hon. secretary and treasurer. The opening of the club w as. arranged for October 27, when it is anticipated: that the lawns will be in first-class order. •;. - -
