Sunday./' A fire occurred in .Queen" Street tonight at eight o'clock, and '- totally - destroyed three two-storeyed houses and their contentn. They were situated in a congested arr ; a of the city, and the absence of a good pressure of water made the work of the brigade difficult. -The flames blazed with unabated fury for over an hour. The firemen had an anxious time, endeavouring' to save the block. About 9.16 the pressure increased, and the fire -was, soon checked by three well-directed leads. Half an hour later the flames, wore well -tinder control.' ./ All' the occupants are heavy losers. ; In one case the owner had- just' renovated the" house and refurnished it. : '
