The meeting was notable in that for the first time Orangemen appeared on the same election platform with Free Staters.
Mr. Cosgrave said that he had told the irregulars " that if they had been worth a damn they would have beaten us a year ago. They had more men and were better armed and better disciplined. Yet we produced an army that knocked the devil out of them. If it 'ias to be done again we ; will do it. So whenever the opportunity seems fitting for them to take the field, let them take itg we will give them our answer."
