TRAM CONDUCTOR INJURED
RESULT OF A COLLISION.
KNOCKED OFF HIS CAB.
A tram conductor, Mr. Alfred Lawrence, of 12, Henley Street, Parnell, received concussion and injuries to his head as the result of a collision in Beach Road shortly before 8 o'clock last evening between two outward-bound 1 tramcars. > .; The first car was proceeding ; along the level when the pole became detached from the overhead wire, / and caused the tram to stop. Mr. Lawrence leaned out from the rear platform and was endeavouring to replace the pole on the wire, when -the otlierStram, which had been following at a. .short distance, struck the ' stationary car a slight blow. : ; _ . * ... '...'" ; The force of the impact a caused Mr. Lawrence to lose his grip and'fall, to 'the ground.
