The Cambridge Golf Club's annual tournament commenced this ' morning at the local links in glorious weather. The first round of the. open championship was played in the monning and resulted: N. Banks (Cambridge) , beat A. Wi Gillies (Auckland), at the 19th hole. 1 P. v ßo . nd (Hamilton) beat A. Rhind (Auckland), i and 3. W. Viokers (Cambridge) beat Renshaw (Tauranga), 3 and 2. ■The second round was completed this afternoon, resulting as follows:— N. Banks beat F.J3omd at the 19th hole. W. Vickerg beat P. Ellis (Hamilton), 2 and 1. J. A. H. Nicoll (Cambridge) beat C. McKenzie (Hamilton), 2 and 1. D. Banks beat P. Wilkie (Rotorua), 2 and H. p. Gillies beat A. Boyce (Cambridge), 3 and 2. « J, Banks heat G. Calvert (Cambridge), 4 and 5. • v H. P. Nelson (Cambridge) won by- default from Morpeth (Hamilton). P. Barker (Timaru) beat J. C. Sawyers (Cambridge), 4 and 3. The medal hamdicap was won by J. O. Sawyers (Cambridge), with a- score of 91—1 hep., 18—73. P. Bond (Hamilton) was second with —8—77. The bogey match was'won by D. Banks (Cambridge), 3 up. _ N. Banks was runnerup, 2 up, and W. Vickers (Cambridge), was also 2 up. -

The L.G.U. . monthly ' medal match was played by the members of the Maungakiekio Ladies Golf Club, on the One Tree Bill links yesterday, in conjunction with the qualifying round of the senior and junior championships. .
