FIRE AT ONEHUNGA.

FANCY GOODS STOCK BURNED

AN EARLY MORNING OUTBREAK.

A fire broke out in Curtis' fancy good'* shop, Qujtn Street, Onehunga, about 3 a.m. yestofday morning. The alarm was given by Mrs. Curtis, who was in an upstairs room. On arrival of the fire brigade, entrance was difficult on account of the smoke and the fumes of eucalyptus, celluloid, and other goods. The fire, however, was quickly subdued, but the stock was practically destroyed by.smoke and water. The stock, which was valued at £400, was insured. for £350 in the London and Lancashire 'Office. The cause of the outbreak is not known, but it is supposed it originated, in tho ignition of matches by rats.
