EMPIRE PRESS CONFERENCE
PLACE OF ~ NEXT MEETING. AUSTRALIA AND NEW ZEALAND. It is interesting, to rjote that there is every probability of the third Imperial 1 Press Conference'being held in Australia and New. Zealand ;in 1925. \ The first Press Conference was held in Great .Britain in 1909, and the second, .in 1920, in Canada. "Both -these " gatherings drew a very large representation of newspaper proprietors and journalists as ; delegates - from all parts of the Empire, and ; the proposal to hold , the- next gathering in Australia and New Zealand {is of'.. great importance. Lord i Burnham, proprietor of the London Daily Telegraph, who presided over the very • successful tour of Canada in 1920, stated in'•■ London recently that it was proposed, in response to representations made by the High Commissioners of Australia and New Zealand, and ,many , of the . Agents-General «rid Consuls, to bfold an Imperial Press Conference in those countries in 1925. Ho also said that there would be an opportunity of welcoming a largo number of overseas editors and publishers during the holding of the British Empire Exhibition, but there could be no regular conference on that occasion.
