STOCKS AND SHARES.

There was no alteration in the tone of the Auckland eharemarket yesterday. In Government securities War Loans, 1927, changed hands at £97 12s 6d, with late buyers of this and the 1941 issue at £97 10s. Other issues were sought .at £97 ss, no sellers quoting. Soldiers' Loan bonds were wanted at £101 10s, and inscribed stock at £101 15s. New Zealand inscribed stock had sustained demand, the 1927 issue at £97 5s and $ther issues at £97. There were no sellers. Local bodies' debentures had good ,; inquiry, but there were no transactions. In banks several parcels of New Zealands sold at 60s, with late sellers at bOs 3d, buyers 59s 6d. Other banks were wanted at about recent rates. In insurances New Zealands were done at 29s 7d, more being asked format 29s Bd, sellers 29s 9d. South British Were looked for at 37s 6d, and (standards at 56s 3d, no sellers quoting. Nationals were offered at 81s. In coals Taupiris (ord.) had sale at 225. In gas Birkenheads Mere done at 17s. In miscellaneous lines sales took place in Kempthorne Prossers at" 635, Tonson Garlicks at 15s 3d, and Wilsons Cements at 265. In mining Waikis at 26s 6d were sought at 265. Grand Junctions sold at 7s 4d, late sellers 7s 6d, buyers 7s 3d. New Waiotahis changed hands at Is, and Moanataiaris at 3s. Sellers of the latter closed at 3s 2d, buyers at 2s lOd.
