PARISHIONERS' MEETINGS.
ST. ANDREW'S CHURCH.
The seventy-seventh annual meeting of St. Andrew's. Anglican Church, Epsom. was held- in the Parish Hall on Tuesday, the vicar, the Rev. E. Lionel Harvie, presiding over an attendance of over 100. The annual report, revealed considerable progress. The debt on the buildings had been paid off, and, in addition, all the various organisations showed credit balances, and the amounts donated to missions and other work outside the district were in. excess of previous years. The cemetery board appointed,, under recent regulations was endeavouring to build up a capital'fund, the income from which "would maintain the grounds and craves in a proper manner. A considerable sum •was already in hand. The enlargement of the Sunday-school building to provide for a kindergarten had proved of immense service. A new pipe organ was dedicated on Easter Day. An afternoon service had been instituted at Mount Roskiil. and it was hoped shortly to start a Sunday-school therein. The large attendances at the Sunday services render it imperative that additional accommodation be provided, and the incoming vestry was authorised to report later. It was decided that an effort should be made to provide a motor-car for the vicar's use, and an.annual sum paid toward its upkeep. In further appreciation of the excellent work done by the vicar, it was unanimously agreed that his stipend should be increased as from January 1 last. The following officers were elected: —Vicar's warden, Mr. A. J. Grove; people's warden. Mr. Harry Frost; vestry. Messrs. G. Ashlev, S. L. Barry. J. W. Harvey, J. B. Lusk. T. G. Mynott. E. L. Percy Holt referred to the division of the. parish last August, and to the success that, had attended the new arrangement. Special mention was made of a monthly gathering of the congregation in the Parish Hall on the first Sunday in* each month for social intercourse. The memorial chancel should be completed in two months. Regret was expressed at the retirement of Miss Walter from the Sundav School, in which she has taught- for "23 years.
