He later appeared on the roof, : whence he repeatedly fired ;on the crowd/ The police were powerless, and the fire brigade was ; summoned, but before the driver could alight he was shot dead. ;v /.The house was eventually surrounded, and the criminal finding escape impossible committed suicide.
