The Paris correspondent of the Daily Express reports the ' elopement of Max Lirider, the cinematograph actor; with the pretty 17-year-old daughter /of a ■wealthy Parisian widow, ended when the gill's mother, accompanied .by detectives; broke into the; room of the hotel which the couple were occupying .at Antibes. Mother and daughter fell into each other's arms while ' Max, who is 20 . years older* than the ' girl, professed" his love for (her and begged- to\ be allowed to marry her. The mother and daughter returned, to Pains, leaving Max at , the hotel.
