PROPOSED RUGBY TOUR.
WELCOMED IN ENGLAND. CONFERENCE ADVOCATED. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Reed. 6.45 p.m.) LONDON. April 13. Sporting Life is making a feature of the projected tour of a New Zealand Rugby team. It states that the visit to England will be a matter of gratification. It will do a lot to clear the air of intrigues and may lead to a conference of representatives of all Rugby-playing countries. It is common knowledge that the New Zealand, New South Wales, and Queensland unions have frequently forwarded proposals which the English Union neither adopted nor seriously considered. Many complaints of discourtesy in En eland have been received. ' Mr. Palliser Wray, New Zealand representative on the Rugby Union, hoped to see a conference bf the English, French, New Zealand, New South Wales, and Queensland unions. It was suggested that the New Zealand team would include a few New . South Wales players, and be known as the Anzacs.
