METHODIST CHURCH.

AUCKLAND CENTRAL CIRCUIT The quarterly meeting of officials of the Auckland Methodist Central Circuit was held at the Pitt Street Church, the Rev. Percy Knight presiding. Congratulations were extended to Mr. Henry Field on his election to the office of vice-president of the New Zealand Conference. The senior membership was reported at 737. Mr. J. W. Shackelford presented the financial statement, showing an accumulated credit of £110 on the circuit account. A record amount had been raised for .the Home Mission fund. The Rev. J. It. Metcalfe, of the Solomon Islands, is expected to \isit Auckland during May, in the interests of foreign missions. ' The request of the chairman of the district for ministerial assistance in carrying on the work of the Auckland Methodist Mission was cordially granted. Sanction was given to the church at Dominion Road to proceed with a scheme for tho erection of new Sunday school buildings. The meeting passed a resolution of hearty appreciation of the devoted labours of the Rev. Dr. Ranston, who, after seven years' service in the circuit, now becomes actit'p,principal of the Theological College.
