PRINCESS THKATR3. Crowded sessions at ; tia Princess .V : 5 Theatre testify to the I pronounced popu- : larity of the current programme. The '■'.'•, leading picture is "To Have and to Hold," / a fine production for Paramount by director George Fitzmaurice. The theme ; is .'. ' taken from Mary Johnston's picturesque; seventeenth century romance, "By ■ Order ; of the Company." It tells of a lovely maid of the Court of King James 1., Lady Jocelyn Leigh, : who runs away to 'Virginia, Embarking on a ship which is carrying : out .a , number of prospective wives to the early settlers r in the Virginian ciftojpy, the heroine is speedily involved in at series of the most exciting adventures, in which fearsome pirates play a prominent part. Thrilling episodes include battles with the pirates and the blowing-up of the iatter's vessel. , Eventually Lady Jocelyn reaches her new home, only to encounter, further desperate adventures, which; include • fights with Indians, staged in a very realistic manner. Betty Oompson plays the •■• leading role, and is ably supported by Bert Lytcll, as "the hero of the enthralling romance. The settings and ' the costumes - are remarkably effective, sustaining the Old World atmosphere- very cleverly. • "To Have and to Hold" is* in short, a thoroughly attractive and invigorating picture. It will be repeated daily for a limited season. v'\ - ' • •'; ( -.. , > QUEEN'S THEATRE. '." ;.. The triple programme at 'the. Queen's S Theatre is attracting large crowds at each session. " ' i EVERYBODY'S THEATRE: - ■ "My Wild Irish Rose," the leading attraction at Everybody's Theatre, 'is proving much to the taste of large audiences at each session. It is a good film version of Dion Bouci'iault'fl play, "The " Shaugh- ■ raun." featuring Pauline Starke, 'Pat O'Malley, and Mickey Daniels. Full of action and redolent" of the atmosphere of old Erin the i picture has many features to commend it.
