PIAKO COUNTY OPPOSED.

[BY telegraph.—-own correspondent.] PUTARUBU. Friday. The motion that the Piako County Council declares itself against the Thames Harbour scheme was carried unanimously at the council's meeting this week. The Motumaoho, Tauhei, Maungateparu, Kereone, and Kiwitahi branches of the Dairy Farmers' Union requested the council to arrange polling booths at those centres and to give ratepayers every chance of recording their votes at the poll on April 26.
