LOAN FOR IMPROVEMENTS.

[BY TELEGRAPH.OWN CORRESPONDENT.] HAMILTON. < Thursday. The Mangawhara River Board met today, when it was resolved t<J warn all settlers along the Mangawhara River to remove willows. It was decided to prosecute a number whp had failed to carry out the board's instruction in regard to this matter. A member stated that 100 willows could be destroyed by ring-bark-ing and poisoning for less than £1, and that there was no excuse for defaulters. The board is taking a poll to-morrow on the question of raising a lpan of £18,000 for the purpose of widening, deepening, and straightening the river and effecting other improvements.
