REBUKE TO PESSIMISTS.
CAPETOWN, March 5 In the House of Assembly the Labour members pressed the Government to provide assistance for young unemployed men on the Witwatersrand who are desirous of finding employment in Australia. The Prime Minister, General Smuts, replied that undoubtedly South Africa way passing through difficult times, but the position was greatly exaggerated. South Africa would not always be suffering from stagnation and depression. He understood that Australia was also sing' through such times, and he deprecated propaganda suggesting that this was IjO,i white man's country.
