HUGE METAL AEROPLANES.
MINISTRY INVITES TENDERS.

The Daily Mail's aeronautical correspondent states that the Air Ministry is calling for tenders for the construction of a huge metal aeroplane, 'capable of night and day flying, and suitable for employment on an Empire mail service. ■ "All-Rod route machines will be equipped with three engines, each of 1000 horsepower, so arranged that in case of engine trouble with one, the others can carry on. It is hoped to be possible to establish a. fleet of great aeroplanes stationed -in relays of 1000 miles, at Malta, Cairo, Basra, Karachi, Calcutta, Penang, Singapore, British Borneo, and Australia,
