There was a large | number of stalls and articles sold readily. The athletic events were keenly contested. The proceeds totalled over £40. Mr. D. R. F. Campbell, headmaster of the Morrinsville school, speaking at a meeting in connection with the High School, said the amount of home work set in the large schools was often too much for the average pupil. He said that in large schools some teachers specialised in a few subjects. While that was probably beneficial to the brilliant boy, it was not always good for the average boy. For instance, the specialist did not know how much work to set. Speaking from his own experience, he said that if a boy did thoroughly all the work set him be would be kept going till midnight.
