MORRINSVILLE DISTRICT.

[BY TELEGRAPH.— OWN CORRESPONDENT.} MORRINSVILLE, Tuesday. The quarterly conference of the New Zealand Co-operative Dairy Company's suppliers committees in the Morrinsville district was held at Morrinsville yesterday, 1 Messrs. A. J. Sinclair, J. Clark and T. Bryant representing the company. Mr. Sinclair spoke on the company's operations during the past season and dealt with' the improved methods of working and savings effected in manufacturing costs. Special interest was evinced on the question of turnip feeding. It was explained that the management took up the attitude that turnip feeding was permissible, but cream with a flavour of turnips could not be graded as superfine. The Morrinsville school championship ■ sports and sale of produce was • held in j Milliken's Park and was favoured with I ideal weather conditions.. A large number of people attended. There was a large | number of stalls and articles sold readily. The athletic events were keenly contested. The proceeds totalled over £40. Mr. D. R. F. Campbell, headmaster of the Morrinsville school, speaking at a meeting in connection with the High School, said the amount of home work set in the large schools was often too much for the average pupil. He said that in large schools some teachers specialised in a few subjects. While that was probably beneficial to the brilliant boy, it was not always good for the average boy. For instance, the specialist did not know how much work to set. Speaking from his own experience, he said that if a boy did thoroughly all the work set him be would be kept going till midnight.
