Mr. Ashley E. Clayton, general manager for New Zealand of the Prudential Insurance Comany, has returned to Auckland. Colonel H. R. Potter, officer commanding the northern command, left for Trentham last evening to attend the meeting of the New Zealand Army Rifle Association. Mr. and Mrs. R. E. McDougall, or Christchurch, who, with their threa daughters, have been touring England for the past 12 months, are at the Grand Hotel. Mr. Percy Sargood, of Dunedin, accompanied by Mrs. Sargood, returned to Ancle, land from Sydney by the, Manuka yesterday after a visit to England and the Continent. : Archbishop C. Julius, of Christohorch ' Primate of New Zealand, returned froni Sydney by the Manukau yesterday. He left for Christchurch by last evening's' express. Mr. W. D. Hunt, managing director of Wright, Stephenson and Company, Limited, and Mr. J. T. Martin, general ' manrger of the same company, returned to Wellington last evening. The Rev. M. Miller, of Dargaville, has resigned his charge. The Auckland Presbytery last evening accepted the resignation with regret. The Rev. J. Pattison of Auckland, was appointed moderator pro tern. Mr. R. McKeen. M.P. for Wellington South, who has been secretary of the Wellington Retail Grocers' Assistants' Union for the past six yearg. has,owing'' to pressure of his Parliamentary duties, resigned from the organisation. Mr. W. A. Cameron, customs exam. ining officer,. Wanganui, has been pro-;, moted to the position of customs inspector at Christchurch- The Wanganni vacancy is beine filled by the transfer of Mr. D." W. P. Dunn, from Dunedin. The Hon. A. M. Myers arrived is Auckland from Sydney by the Manuka yesterday after a trip to England. He is accompanied by Mrs. Myers and two daughters. Mr. Myers will stay in New Zealand for some months before returning' to England.
