WANGANUI NOTES.

HORSES FOR AUCKLAND.

[from our. own corrksponpknt.]

_ Tamatete will bo taken north to compete in the Ad-aged Stakes at Avondale, and will also run in the six-furlong handicap on the second dav at the Auckland Racine Club's Autumn Meeting if the weight given him is considered to leave him with a fair chance. Tukja will also represent, Mr. W. Duncan at the Auckland meeting. The Absurd filly has not been asked to do much since returning from the Christmas meeting at Ellerslie. and it is hard to say what her condition will be like at Ellerslie. However if she can reproduce her best form, she will take no end of beating in her engagements. Mr. Tern Duncan will be represented bv Kinsem and Enthusiasm at the Auckland meeting Neither of them showed the form expected of them at Wanganui, but if the going is good at Plllerslie thev will both run -well in whatever events they start. Thespian appears to. be greatly improved as a result of his racing at Wanganui. and he looks remarkably well. He is bei " worked the reverse way here with a viewto the Auckland meeting. If he is started in the Easter Handicap this .son of Absurd will probably show something like his best form. Listowel and Deluge are also going alone well. and they should show much better form than thev did here While being schooled over the hurdles on Friday, in company with Gaiety Girl. Battle Son? came a cropper a.s a result of taking off too soon at a hurdle. His rider J. Johns, got rather a nasty soill, hut, sustained no serious iniury. It is believed that Battle Son-r will be able to fulfil' his engagements at Opnnake next Saturday, and Explorer will also be taken un. The lastnamed in very well, and should run prominently m his engagements. Wancanui stables will be well represented at f'e Feilding Easter meeting, which onena on Easter Saturday, though there is nothing from here in the Cup. War Loan. Mnline-erer. and Mouln are all likely starters in the hurdles at Feilding. The former has* been showing such consistently good form recently that, he io iks certain to win some of the big jumping events to come. Moulu is gradually -Imr>rovi;i", and it is ouite on the cards 'hat he will get amoii" the winners soonT. Long has Piffle find Kanaka in ste«dy work in view of the F"i!din? meetin". The Inßt-liap'ed looks all the better for hi.s racing at Wnntrnnui. and he promises to prove a useful sort. Gaiety, Girl is slowing that she knows how to jumn. but she appears to -"ton very onickly. and may not prove enual to runring out. a bird race over the hurdles though she is bred to shi"e at the jumn'ng ""me. being by San Fran out of The H»mme. Find* will probably, be seen out in th« Scott Memorial Handicap at the Rangifikei me»ti"T. He has been given 9.3. It is rirobah'e he may wan* a race or two before he will be !>t Ins best, but he is likely to run » good race. Crucello has boon movin" freely «-,en "ring at Dnnne-irke. nnd "ho should 'hi handy m the Raneitikei Cup. in whiVT, f?'J fibres with Askari at the top of the lis* with 9.0. .1 W fl" I T Ti ,n .
