PRESENTATIONS.

At the Ladies' College, Remuera, on y f Saturday afternoon, the retiring headmistress, Mrs. Moore- was presented " si by the old girls of the college with a handsome silver tea service. Mrs. P. A. Cumow, in making the presentation, re- •' ' j.,' ferred to the good work done by Mrs. Moore-Jones in her many years of service " - at the college. Reference was also made to the valuable help given by her two r ■ daughters. Mrs. Moore-Jones suitably replied. About 70 members of the Auckland Women Teachers' Association met in the Business Girls' Club to tender a farewell social and presentation to Miss E. R. M Wilson, who has retired from the teaching profession afier 30 years' service. During the evening musical items and ;i recitations were given by members of the i association, and Miss Wilson was presented with an ivory-backed mirror, briiah And comb, and trinket box. Appropriate speeches were made by Miss Baylev, president of the association; Mr. G. W. Murray, representing the Auckland Education Board ; and Mr. Lamb, president 4 of the A.D.E.I. All spoke of the great value of the work done Miss Wilson ~.':} for her fellow teachers. She had represented them for several years as a mem-, ber of the executive of the A.W.T.A.. and of the A.D.E.1., and had many times /:$ acted as delegate to the N.Z.E.1., and on the Council of Education. Miss Wilson suitably responded. , 'fa A farewell smoke concert was held in ' ;§: honour of Mr. and Mrs. R. T. Reid, \:s at Waiukuu Mr. Reid has been a resident :;$ cf Vvaiuku for some twelve years, being ■''. chairman of the Waiuku Town Board for seven years and a member of the Franklin County Council since it« inception. He £j la now going to Hamilton. About fifty settlers and towsmen attended the gather- * ing. On behalf of resident* generally, Mr. and Mrs. Reid were then, presented, with a handsome silver-mounted tray, with f(&ll| a cut glass decanter an-1 six cut glasses, *'?J§ and from the Waiuku Hunt Club with half-a-dozen silver spcons suitably cased.
