SENTENCED BY WOMEN.
A Bench composed entirely of women magistrates sentenced John William Leather, aged twenty-seven, a fitter's labourer, to 3 months' hard labour at Norwich recently. Leather pleaded guilty to obtaining 303 by fake pretenses. He obtained the money from the Post, Office Savings Bank by stealing his father's pass book. Leather is the first I man to be sentenced in England by I women magistrates- _ It is doubtful if he I appreciates tfea distinction.
