LARGE CIVIL SERVICE CUTS.

£88,000,000 TO BE SAVED. A. and N.Z. LONDON, March 5. The Civil Service Estimates for the next financial year show an estimated reduction of over £88,000,000, the decreases in some departments being very large. The estimated cost for relief of unemployment is £1,750,000, a decrease of £820,000 compared with this year. The Education vole is £3,000.000 less, and the Irish vote is responsible for a large reduction. The Middle Eastern vote is cut- by £2,500,000. The Pensions vote has dropped by £16.000,000.
