PROFESSIONAL PROPOSER.
15 WOMEN VICTIMISED.
LOVING HEART PLEADED.
A. and N.Z
GENEVA. March 6.
Ferdinand Nater, a handsome and fashionably-dressed man of 52 years, was charged at Zurich with obtaining money from. 15 women under promises of marriage. He pleaded, "I have a loving heart, and am quite unable to resist the women."
Most of his victims are young widows. Three- out of five who were present in court tearfully besought the Judge to liberate Nater. The other two intimated that they would bring breach of promise actions against him. Nater declared that the majority of the women themselves proposed. _ He was sentenced to two years' imprisonment and three years' loss of civic rights.
