The formal opening should take place in about a fortnight. •' The new building will fill a long-felt want at Tatuanui, for up to the present some 70 children nave had to be instructed in the Public Hall. Encouraged by the success of a Te Aroha settler last year, several district settlers are this year growing artichokes. This quick-growing and prolific vegetable is very suitable ■ for pig-fattening. Hay-making has not yet been completed in this district, some of the settlers having profited by the splendid growing season oy taking a second crop of hay oft some of their paddocks.
