TE KUITI. Friday, The Te Kuiti borough is free from debt for the first 1 time i since 1914. Owing to various causes the borough has had a somewhat chequered financial career, but, since the rearrangement of tho staff after the last municipal election, its position has improved wonderfully. Since 1914, the overdraft at the bank has varied from £965 to as" high as £5344 in 1919, since / when the municipal indebtedness has almost uniformly decreased until at present the account at the bank is in credit in the sum of £424. Mr. J. Kiernan, the town clerk, states that rates collected so far this year amount to £7300, which is equal to the total amount of rates struck for the year.
