GAME IN NEW ZEALAND.
BETTER BATS THAN BOWLERS MR. MacLAREN'S OPINION. A. and N.Z. SYDNEY'!' Feb. 22. .Mr. MacLaren, in a further interview, said that the New Zealand batsmen were better than the bowlers. The latter had no idea what was required of them in a tight corner. Their fielding was very weak. The men did not anticipate a stroke, but waited for the ball to come to them. He expressed the opinion that frequent visits of New Zealanders to Australia would produce better results.
