MOTOR-LORRY AND STONE. •; A motor-lorry passing along Cuba Street, Palmerston North, recently apparently "pinched **a piece of metal -on the road and sent it hurtling through,the tottom corner of a three-eighths cf an inch, plate-glass window in -■businessi pre mises in the street. • Two little girls were passing by at the moment, arid, they had a narrow ; escape from ; being struck : by the flying object.- The metal travelled » distance ;.of about 17ft., so -that had the children been in the direct line of flight it must have resulted in a nasty; accident.
