TAKAPUNA SEWERAGE.
LOAN OF £75,000 PROPOSED. | SEVERAL SCHEMES SUGGESTED. The Takapuna Borough Council held a special meeting on Tuesday evening, the Mayor, Mr. A. M. Gould," presiding, to consider sewerage schemes for the borough. It was stated that there were several proposals, all of. .which were backed by competent opinion. It was decided to apply to the Auckland City Council and to the Auckland Drainage Board, with a view to obtaining the advice of Mr. W. E. Bush, City engineer, and Mr. H. H. Watkms, engineer to the board. stated that any one of_ « It was stated that any one of the schemes could be established for £75,000, this amount including all engineering expenses and compensation claims, leayjpg a sufficient sum to be used in assisting ratepayers in making connections. ,;.^, It was decided to hasten up matters by. applying to the Government for authority to P raise S a loan of £75,000. and a subcommittee was appointed to make the necessary arrangements. ;; .
