OVERSEAS VESSEL LOADING. [BY TELEGRAPH. — CORRESPONDENT.] WHAKATANE. Wednesday . The New Zealand Shipping Company's steamer Wangaratta arrived here from Auckland yesterday to load a cargo of 10,000 carcases of lamb and 100 casks of tallow. The vessel anchored in the roadstead off Whale Island, aid loading operations by means of tender commenced this afternoon. It is expected that/ loading operations will be completed by next Friday. Residents were very Interested in the arrival of the Wangaratta., as she is the first meat boat to visit the port since operations recommenced at the local freezing works.
