LOYALTY TO FRANCE.

NO EXCUSE FOR A QUARREL. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Hoed. 6.i8 p.m.) LONDON, Feb. 14. I"he Morning Post, to. a leader entitled, Have we a' Foreign Policy?" says, regarding the Ruhr situation :— There has been diversity of method, but we are glad to gather from the King's Speech that ♦here is no estrangement of feeling. If upon all questions we cannot act "together, we can at least remember that no point of difference is important enough to be allowed to"risk a general quarrel. If we cannot ace with France on the question of the Ruhr, let us at least remain faith fiti to the obligation* of friendship. Denunciations of France by a section of the British Press are disloyal to this friendship, and, moreover, foolish. France follows a well-considered policy in all things. Her statesmen reputedly are logical and clear-headed. We must maintain friendship with France, for the secu rity of Britain, and we can only retain her friendship by treating her with fairness, loyalty, and consideration."
