RECORD WOOL SALE.
CATALOGUE FOR MONDAY.
TOTAL ABOUT 22,000 BALES.
LARGEST BENCH OF" BUYERS. .*•. The -catalogues for the second wool sale of the season in • Auckland, r which < will .be held 011 Monday, ! have closed ■ with the I record aggregate , of . about / 22,000, bales. The sale will be \ by. far , the largest that ' has yet been held in Auckland,' the wool i entered representing about half the clip | of the 'eeason of the province., The wool coming to .hand includes some very -attractive clips, a number of growers who 1 previously shipped their wool direct to ' i the London market, , having decided to I sell in Auckland. This course no doubt ( is dictated by. the fact that prices re- !'! ceived in , the Dominion, particularly for II crossbred wools,-'such as are largely pro- . [ duced in the Auckland district/ are -in ' ! excess of London • values. \ ; " There is' also II a percentage ' of bush-stained and seedy , f wools, which are usually seen at the • later sales of the season, but it is gratify-' • 4ng to note that this percentage is being reduced each year. ; s . The largest bench of buyers that has. » ever been in Auckland will be in.attend--11 ance, and brokers r arid growers are 11 sanguine that L good prices will be obt - tained. The wool sold at the last Auck>i. land . sale realised an ; average of - about ■, i £14 a bale. Assessing the offerings at • > the forthcoming sale -at the same value r • the saje - should result in over £300,000 r being distributed among the growers of ■ the province. ' .•' The third Bale of the season in Auck- [ land has been : fixed for March 17.
