OVERSEAS DEMAND LACK. PRICES SHOW DECLINE. • [B* TELEGRAPH. — ' ASSOCIATION.] TIMARD, Monday. v The second wool sale of the 1922-1923 ; series at Timaru wag held to-day, when 1.2,219 Vales were offered. There was an (Excellent at/tendance of buyers, representatives being present from Bradford, America,, the Continent, and Dominion mills. ■ ■ .. , ■ * The quality of the wool, taken all round, was excellent, the bulk being; light in grease as, a result of the com paratively - cool weather . during the v last few months." % 'v, , / • Bidding was weaker than at the opening sale. Prices for medium • halfbred, ! three-quarterbred, and piece wool showed ' a slight decline. Overseas representatives : were not keen bidders, the Dominion mills i being the keenest buyers. i The range of prices was as follows:— Merino, 28£ d to 28|d; halfbred, 12|d to 23>}d; crossbred, B|d to 19|d; threequarterbred, B|d to 21 id; Leicesters, B£d vto 9d; Komney, 9j{d to 123 d; C'orriedafe, 16£ dto 22j|d. Pieces: Merino, 153 dto 20£ d; halfbred, 6§d to 21 d; crossbred, 8d to 19d j three-quarterbred, - B£d to 12^d; 1 Leicesters, to B|d. Bellies, B|d to 174 d; crntchings, sid to 9d; dead wool, 7|d to 16d; locks, 5d to' Bid. Scoured wool: Crossbred, 14Jd to 18d; three-quarterbred, I 23d to 31d: pieces,- 153 d to 19id.
