Lithuanian talk of a recourse to arms has evoked'* stern warning of possible intervention by ; the: League ■■ of Nations. The Earl of Balfour and M. Viviani, at 1 a public .sitting of the Council of the League of Nations, which approved Ihe provisional demarcation line of the neutral zone between Poland and Lithuania recommended by the League's investigator, ordered Poland and Lithania to disarm and dissolve the bands of irregulars infesting the district. j The Polish delegate agreed to do so, but the Lithuanian delegate declined, declaring that Lithuania insisted upon the return of the Suwalki line, which was accepted by both countries before Colonel Zeligowski's coup d'etat at Vilna. Lithuania would resist to the utmost the occupation of territory now allotted to Poland. "P- :•'.-,: '
